We’ve got on the successful entrepreneur, and mother of two, Gina Horkey, to share her experience as a freelancer and tips on how to become an effective VA! Gina started writing on the side while working at a full-time job.
She woke up early in the morning and did side hustling, but soon was tired of working a traditional job and decided to make a change. She wanted something different and more passionate about working in the corporate world.
It was in 2014 when her husband left his job, but, still, she managed the pressure and decided to leave her career as a Financial Adviser and transition into an online business owner.
We’ve been able to design a life based on the flexibility of the work rather than taking the work first and then designing our life around that.
She pursued her passion for writing. Gina’s strong interest in writing moved her to start up a blog and set up a website, which she finds very fun and interesting. She gets to know people from different parts of the world– her favorite part.
Gina is earning money as a self-employed at the same time fulfilling her responsibilities as a mother to her children. Gina tackles everything about being a Virtual Assistant and emphasizes that it’s not only about landing clients, but the importance of building relationships between you and your clients, commitment, communication, and enjoying the people with whom you’re working.
