Debt-freedom success stories inspire people to get on the program and start paying off their own debt as well. However, some people may not relate to many of the success stories, or find their systems non-fetching.
If you found a soundly, non-conventional means of paying off debt, do you think it will work out in the end? Is it okay to take a different approach or staple a different mindset to pay off your debt?
“Dear Debt” is the book we’ll be covering on today’s episode of The His & Her Money Show. With the author of the book, Melanie Lockhert, we talk about breaking up with debt and the ways to do it.
Melanie started off accumulating about $81,000 on student loans. After 5 years of slowly paying off her debt, she realized her system is not working out. She then started taking a different approach to pay off her remaining debt, and ended up successfully freeing herself from $61,000 in a little over 4 years!
I’m actually able to pay for my future rather than my past.
In this episode, we would like our audience to know that there are many other means and ways to get yourself out of debt. It is okay to think outside the box. It is okay to take a different approach. It is okay to have a completely different mindset. In the end there is but one objective—we want to live a debt-free life.
